Sitges, a progressive and cosmopolitan city in a prime location on the Mediterranean, will be glad to welcome you to the Training New Trainers (TNT) workshop and the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) FORUM 2009, from 1st to 6th June 2009.
Organized by :
The TNT is designed specifically to provide and strengthen skills for helping others learn MI. It does not teach the clinical method of MI itself; proficiency in delivering MI is a prerequisite for the TNT. Preference is given to applicants who, beyond their initial training, have had ample opportunity to develop skillfulness in the practice of MI through feedback and coaching. Some examples of this would be:
What is needed is specific training, experience and supervision in the use of MI, not just in more general clinical practice.
The successful applicant should be able to provide specific information about this type of experience, along with contact information for the MI consultant(s) who provided feedback and coaching. MINT forum Inscription will only be allowed for professionals already accredited as Motivational Interviewing Trainers. TNT participants are much welcomed.
In these intensive 3-day advanced workshops, proficiency in motivational interviewing (MI) is assumed as a starting point, and the focus is on trainer skills and exercises to facilitate the learning of MI and its adaptations. Trainings are designed to prepare health professionals to teach and train these clinical methods, which have been shown to be effective in enhancing behavior and outcomes. Participants will learn a well-developed, sequenced and integrated set of strategies for teaching clinical skillfulness in MI across various settings.
The workshops are intended to prepare trainers to:

The hotel Estela Barcelona is a mediterranean- style building located in Sitges, in the Aiguadolç port area. Its close relation with art can bee seen since the moment you step into the lobby. Josep M. Subirachs, a highly reputed artist who is working on the façade of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, has converted this place into the scenario of the descent from the Infinity to Herat. Flights of steps, waterfalls and spheres make up this peculiar vision of the coming together of two dimensions.
